To the best of my knowledge, the old winipcfg utility from past versions of windows has been turned into a command line program in Windows XP. My issue is that I would like to create a shortcut that will open a command prompt window and run the ipconfig program. Simple enough, right. I wrote a batch file to do just that, but as soon as ipconfig displays the information I need the window closes since all commands have been run. Any suggestions for how to force the command prompt window to stay open?

    You are welcome.
Which did you use, pause or doskey - because I wasn't sure about doskey:D

I used pause, I don't think doskey will work. Thanks again.
