    I close all background programs before playing a game. The Toolbar feature just means that instead of having the player sitting on your desktop it sits in the toolbar. Not that it loads at startup or sits in memory even after u shut down WMP or anything like that.

    It's your choice but out of Realplayer, quicktime and winamp I'm finding WMP9 more and more as my choice of music player.

    I am with PI on this one. The tool bar funtion is really a nice concept and I have dumped winamp for last few days. WMP9 for me...:D

    erm, try uninstalling and then reinstalling - your installation may have got corrupted when you tried downloading.
    obvious answer I know, but usually works.

    oh and WMP9 works fine first time no probs so far for me.

    There is one version for use under win 9x
    and another for 2k & xp, make sure you
    choose the right download.
