Yep VIA drivers would make a right mess with a nVIDIA based mobo. :D

Yes, you need to install the latest NForce motherboard drivers from Nvidia. Go to the driver download page, and download it from there.

Install it and it will enable your IDE channels properly, which in turn means you can enable DMA on those channels.

DO NOT try to install the VIA 4-in-1s or Intel drivers as they are not relevant to your motherboard. Also WinXP Does not contain the NForce drivers as NForce came out well after XP was released.

Do i need to uninstall the old nForce drivers before installing the new version? I once tried to install the newest drivers (10.2.2003, first i uninstalled the old one), but i donīt think it installed properly...! :rolleyes2

I really donīt understand how i got the DMAīs visible, but there they are. The thing went like this: There was something wrong with the souncard driver (integrated) at the weekend, so i re-installed the original mobo drivers (the fourth time allready). Today i looked some other stuff at the device manager and i also checked the IDE Controllers just for "fun" and i was quite surprised when i notice that the Primary- and Secondary IDE Controller -menus were visible! I really canīt tell why those settings appeared now, because like i said, i had installed the drivers at least four times before and they didnīt have any effect of that DMA-thing.  :?:
