Just a note that I do cover IRQs to a fair degree in that guide Asklepios linked to at the start. If you read that, you'll see the best ways of getting rid of IRQ sharing.

Now you can turn off ACPI get rid of IRQ sharing, and some people have done it without any problems or reduced functionality, but from everything I've read, turning off ACPI can cause a lot of problems for a lot of people, and can be difficult to re-enable without a reinstall.

Basically with IRQs, even if you have a couple shared, as long as you don't see any problems then don't sweat it. It's only if you have, say your sound card and graphics card sharing, and you hear strange noises or popping, or get graphical glitches that you'd want to take further steps to fix IRQ sharing.

And just like Wiggo, I've never had major components share IRQs...I think it happens to a lot of people because they have too many devices on their machine without disabling unused devices (like COM and LPT ports). If you read my guide you'll see on a standard 16IRQ machine there are only 6 IRQs free.
