Just thought I'd throw it up for anyone who was in need of it and would like to try it out. I haven't tried it myself cos my comp is running fine. If anyone tries it out, let us know if it really does what it says it does.

    nice find marty :thumb:
its been there on net of sometime but i didn't find a download location! cheers to you that you did!

but i would say that everyone should wait for sometime before applying that fix. don't fall in the trap of "faster PC" as the patch is still under testing!
straight from horse's mouth (from M$ Article :p)

    a summary

After you install Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), your programs may take as much as ten times as long to start.

A mild warning (atleast it seems so to me)

Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this fix.

so if u really think that some particular application used to START quickly before you installed SP1 then the fix is for you! Please note that we are not talking about final running. Its just initial starting of application!
