I just moved offices and have a new computer that i have to use. It's an older Dell with a 50 gig HD (according to the bios), and for some reason it was set up with a dual Win2K boot. I was told I could reformat & set it up however I want, so i deleted one of the boot options (i thought) by going into boot.ini & deleting one of the lines. Deleted all partitions, reformated, reinstalled Win2K, but I only have 20 gig of space available. where did the other 30 go? I'm missing the space that the other Win2K was installed on. Any idea how I can get it back?

Well I've never come across a 50GB hdd before but are ya sure that the drive wasn't compressed before hand? :?:

I thought the same thing at first, but the bios shows it as a 50GB drive when I have it auto detect the drive. Maybe it was compressed, i'm not sure.

Fdisk the drive again and be sure to unmount any non-logical partitions.

OK, I still feel dumb but that thread should be enshrined or bronzed or something
