how do I disable msn messenger other than from msconfig?

I installed msn v5 and unchecked the box for msn from within msconfig., yet, msn v4 still pops up in the system try and pisses me off.

how do I get rid of it for good. OR, where is there a suitable upgrade so I can just upgrade instead of installing v5.

Open Messenger, and look through the menu, I am not sitting at my Xp computer right now but somewhere in the menu options there is a setting that says something like do not load messenger when windows starts and do not run in the background

Go here to read about uninstalling it if you are running Windows XP.

if its not home edition, you can turn it off in the gpedit.msc
type that at the command line and you can customize a lot of stuff from there, also auto widowsupdate, windows clock synch thingie etc......:thumb:
